What Is 3GP Format?
The 3GP video file format was developed with the purpose to save on disk space, bandwidth, and data usage, which is why they’re often used on mobile devices.
3GP format was initiated to make file sizes smaller, making it easier to stream video and music onto mobile phones.
3GP is a common video format and a simplified version of the MP4 format.
This format supports two resolutions: 320×240 and 352×288. The first is suitable for those mobile phones that support 3GP format on the market; the latter is clearer and suitable for all kinds of mobile phones and video players.
Supported Devices
Most 3G-enabled mobile phones support playback and recording of 3GP format video.
Some new or high-end mobile phones without a 3G function can also play and record 3GP format video.
Audio encoded in MPEG-4 AAC format imported from a CD on Sony PlayStation 3 can be copied to a USB device in 3GP format.
Nintendo DSi device supports .3gp files on the SD card.
How to Open 3GP files?
3GP files cannot be played directly in Microsoft Windows Media Player. Because Windows Media Player does not convert 3GP format, a video codec plugin must be installed to read 3GP format, such as FFDShow.
Focus on converting 3gp for compatibility;

Step 1: Add the 3GP file to VideoPower BLUE.

4) Choose “Keep the selected section” or “Delete the selected section” from “Preferences”.
5) Click “OK” to save the setting

Step 3: Step 3: Convert 3GP to MP4 format.
3.1 Set the output format.
1) Click to open the “Profile” drop-down menu, then choose the format you want from the profile list.
2) Here you can click “Video” and then “MP4”.
3) You may now choose the quality you prefer.

3.2 Start Conversion
Return to the file list. Click the “Convert” button, then the converted MP4 file will be saved in the default output folder.

3.3 Find the Converted MP4 files
The program will pop up a window to inform you once the conversion is completed. Click “OK” to open the folder of your saved converted files.
